Tele-Ophthalmology Clinic Tour

Delegates can have a chance to visit Singapore’s Primary Eye Care and Reading Centre to see its tele-ophthalmology initiatives, which have been pilot-launched for 2 years to provide screening for over 90,000 patients in more than 20 primary clinics and hospitals annually. Reports are generated from within 1 hour to 1 business day. Over 600 patients with blurry vision or simple eye complaints have now been diagnosed through tele-ophthalmology conducted via video-conferencing.

SNEC-Tongren Summit

The inaugural SNEC/SERI-Tongren Summit was held in August 2017 in Beijing for an exchange of knowledge on the latest development in ophthalmology. Faculty from the Singapore National Eye Centre, the Singapore Eye Research Institute and the Beijing Tongren Hospital will gather together again in Singapore to share their findings on topics ranging from surgical techniques in the treatment of various eye conditions to the use of artificial intelligence in imaging and population health research.
